2011.09.09 Cox Power Architects are attending the RIAI & DoECLG Sustainable Communities & Housing Committee National Housing Conference. RIAI architects throughout Ireland will open their doors on Saturday 7th & Sunday 8th May to give members of the public an hour’s consultation with an architect in return for a €50 donation to the Simon Communities of Ireland. All participating architects are giving their time for free and every cent raised will go directly to Simon, to assist those experiencing homelessness. The building incorporates 56 beds, a family apartment, community rooms, gym, hair dressers, oratory and consultation rooms on an elevated woodland site overlooking Lough Mask. David Power is one of the speakers at the conference taking place in Limerick on the 2nd and 3rd November 2009 with a talk titled "Creative West". 2009.10.02 Everyday Architecture Exhibition is launched as part of the Westport Arts Festival running from October 2nd – October 11th 2009. The exhibition features architectural projects throughout Mayo and will take the form of an open-air installation along the mall river, with public walkabout and discussion at 4:00pm on Sunday 12th October 2009. One house by Cox Power & Associates in Louisburgh forms part of the exhibition. 2009.08.30 Kerry County Council has published its new design guidelines “Building a house in Rural Kerry” featuring 7 Houses by Cox Power Architects.
