Cox Power Architects, established in 1988, is a leading award winning RIAI registered architectural practice, working on projects ranging from €50,000 to €40 million. The practice provides a high quality professional service focused on design, co-ordination, accuracy, reliability and delivery of the total project to our clients. A strong emphasis is placed on team work and we have successfully worked on international design teams with many different consultants, provided single point design team services and worked as part of Design - Build project teams.

Clients include Primark (Ireland, UK, France, Germany, Netherlands, Austria, Spain and Portugal), SuperValu, Portwest, Mayo County Council, Galway City Council, Sligo Borough Council, Sligo County Council and many Private Clients. We understand the need for a quality professional proactive/reactive problem solving approach within an intense results driven environment and have the experience and know how to respond to these requirements.


John Cox MRIAI MCIAT ICIOB and RIAI Accredited SHW PSDP

John has over 35 years experience and is project management coordinator for the practice ensuring the successful delivery of projects. Experience in nearly all areas of the design / construction industry, he ensures his knowledge and experience in dealing with clients, contractors, design team relationships, design issues etc. is shared with all practice members. Project experiences ranges from commercial/industrial sector to residential, educational, hotels / leisure / tourism sector to civic/cultural and urban design sectors. Extensive experience in project planning for phasing and management of occupied buildings. Extensive experience the role of PSDP . John is former chairperson of Westport Tidy Towns, national and international award winning heritage town.


David Power B.rch (Hons) FRIAI Accredited RIAI Conservation Grade 3

David has over 30 years experience and ensures architectural quality and standards are developed and maintained throughout the practice. David has an extensive range of design experience in Ireland, France and Switzerland. Projects include urban design, civic offices, library, social security offices, schools, department stores, shopping centres, residential developments and leisure centres as well as conservation. David ensures architectural quality & standards are maintained throughout the practice, David has served as board and council member of the RIAI and has served as Vice President of the RIAI 2011/12/13, Honorary Secretary 2009 - 2010 and Western Region Representative in 2005 - 2008, Assessor in the Irish Architecture Awards, Assessor RIAI Visiting Board for UCD, Member of the Western Development Commission Industry Advisory Group on the 2009 publication - The Creative Sector in the Western Region. He has lectured and exhibited on many occasions most recently at the 2013 RIAI Annual Conference. He served as RIAI liaison on the EU Construction Products Regulations in 2013 and was a member of the 2018 National Standards Authority of Ireland Concrete Blocks Committee leading to the publication of the new Irish Standard on defective blocks I.S. 465:2018, Assessment, testing and categorisation of damaged buildings incorporating concrete blocks containing certain deleterious materials.
